bought a ute from adam on this web site ....thanks again..
has a blown engine .......allready new when i got it
i have a bad back and asked the local garage here in carlisle...archer st....
how much to install motor i bought from them
he said 10 hours and would cost me $900............

Thats probably to do a proper job...bonnet off, electris, fuel, linkages etc. Its a lot of labour. Prob a full day. On my old celica I could do full engine swaps by myself and that was 4hrs from IGN off to ISGn on as it were.

seems a bit much to me if it just a straight changeover. removing bonnet shouldnt take that long.
Ring a couple of other engine people and ask what they would charge to fit their motor.
10 hours at $900 works out at $90 hour, and not exactly a skilled l

Bonnet off and I still turn around an HK to HZ in 4 hours. You should be able to find someone who will do it for say $300 - $400 cash. $90 an hour for a tradesman is not that much these days, mainly due to the trade shortage.

I've got a compressor and air ratchet, 2 post hoist and engine crane and i'm sure that I wouldn't do an engine swap in say a 308 HZ Statesman in 4 hours. If my life depended upon it I could, but who wants to bust a gut for a few hundred dollars? You'll pr
