i checked afine spline banjo diff centre for back lash it had an exceptable 1/2 a thou good when i put it in my hq i could turn the tailshaft half a turn before the wheels turn were does all the backlash come from? cheers

There are a number of different types and sources of backlash.
e.g Wife backlash: This results from spending too much time at the pub, forgetting her birthday, etc
Voter backlash: Politicians breaking promises
etc

Backlash on a banjo is .006 thou to.009 thou. The movement can be from between the spider gears and the axels and between each of the four spider gears them selfs.
