I love my 253 Prem to bits..but today, it pushed me pretty far. I was leaving work and turned a 90 degree turn, when the beast spat a few times and stopped. I opened the bonnet and found #7 lead wrapped around my steering column. It must have cought the head of a bolt or something. It ripped the dizzy cap off and also distroyed the rotor button. Im gonna fix the bloody thing tomorrow, but noticed the dizzy housing is very loose. I know it needs movemnt to time it. But can anyone tell me where to tighten it up? at a quick look there seemed to be a bolt facing straight down into the block (not sure if it went through the dizzy housing...is that bolt on the dizzy housing ? and does it secure it into position to hold the correct timing? Any help or insight would be extremely appreciated.

That bolt tightens on a clamp that holds the base of the dissy down on the block. It can be a bastard to get to (particularly with a powerglide dipstick right in the way). I was in the habit of leaving in loose enough so I could turn the dissy by hand to
