A friend of mine has just bought a hx van full roof lining gts dash, wheels etc but is a 186 4spd.He has told me there were 300 sandmans produced with a 6 cylinder. Is this right as i thought they were all v8s.I have not had a look at it yet but when i do i will get all the numbers off it and post them up.It is a windowless van in good-fair nick.He only paid $300 for it.

Is the engine original? Youd have to put up the codes to tell for sure whether or not its a Sandman.
Regardless, $300 for a windowless van in good condition is a bargain.

yes there were some six cylinder sandmans but none were 186, hq used 173 or 202, hj used 2850 or 3300 same for HX as well as v8`s .. HZ sandmans were all v8`s....HX and HZ sandmans did not have fluted guards.
