Sold the Overlander on Friday. Went to Goulburn (west of) and to a good home.

Bought a VZ Cross 8 in Brisbane on saturday. 05/2005 (new in 06/2005), white with black leather. Absolutely babied all its life. Never had anything in the back. After adding in the plane flight, NSW transfer, rego and refund on QLD rego it will owe me aboput $29,000. Lot of car for not a lot of $.
On the drive back through Warwick and down the new England it got pretty good economy. The tripmeter was showing 14.4 L/100kM average over the previous 30,000kM. That dropped to 13.7 on my drive to Glen Innes when I reset it. It then averaged 12.7 back to Newcastle.
I'm reliably informed from V8 Adventra owners that with an extremely mild Competition Cam's cam, new valve springs and an on dyno tune (all up about $3,000) they pick up 4L/100kM around town and about 3 highway. That's almost as good a deal as a vapour injection LPG setup for about $4,500. Will have to look into doing that.
And to those looking for a diff swap for a HQ-WB, I had the X8 on the hoist adjusting the handbrake and the diff looks awful close in width and leaf spring brackets to a HQ-WB commercial. The X8 is 3.45:1 but other auto tonners and crewmen are 3.08:1 so they may make a good diff swap??
