Could someone tell me the model of the all wheel drive ute. Do they still make them, are they any good. I like the idea of that little more clearance and the safety factor on muddy roads. Giving up the old HQ.

They were only made in VYII, VYII1/2 and VZ. Called Cross 8 in twin cab only, and Cross 6 in twin cab or 1-tonner. I just bought an 05/05 VZ Cross 8. Goes OK. Gets good traction on slippery surfaces.

I paid $28,200 plus GST for my 05/05 VZ with leather trim. Try to stick with VZ as they have better engines in both V6 and V8. VZ was released in all models in 8/04 but not in Cross 8 until about april 05, although I think the VY still got VZ running gear

It looks like the cross6 and normal crewman only came with the lower kw v6. Yet you can get the 190kw dual variable cam on the adventura and the sv6 ute. I wanted to do a factory order crewmman with the 190kw and a long range tank but they wouldnt do it.

I wanted a Cross 8 1-tonner, but again Holden didn't deliver. The Cross 8 crewman does have a 2500kg towing capacity though.

On the Cross 8 thing, I just bought and fitted a factory auxiliary transmission cooler. The instructions refer to a special too
