I just wired up a factory rev counter into an HQ holden at idle the revs say 5000 lol. I can tell the engine is only going about 1000 or less.

On the Delco remy Hei dizzy it has a hook up that says REV so I put one wire from there to my Rev counter where it says Positive.

Any ideas why it would say 4500-5000 rpms at idle?
Thanks in advance
