Have just bought a VN Berlina V8 5 Speed WAGON that I believe to be factory, some people have been telling me it is quite rare to have this combination. Could you tell me how I read the VIN, and if it is correct just how rare is it, and does it make it any more collectable? Cheers Matt

If it is wanted, it increases desirability, which increases collectability. Mitsubishi Colts are rare now, but not very desirable or collectable.
So what I am saying is that rare does not necessarily play a part in collectable. Enjoy your car, it sound |

Hi Matt.
Mick (C'nut) probably hasn't seen the question yet, so I'll steal his thunder.
Unlike today, for the VN series the V8/5-speed was a normally available option for a Berlina wagon. For that reason they wouldn't be super rare.

Thanks Dr Terry, it all matches what you have said and based on the fact it was readily available I don't feel so bad about pulling it apart. Thanks Matt

Been offline for a few days (went to Bendigo swap).
While they were an available option (and I know a family who bought one new, with the optional power pack, in Maranello Red) they are reasonably few & far between, but nothing like that should stop yo |
