hi i have a 350 chev which casting number indicates it`s 1969-1980 block.
being new to chev motors can someone tell me if it`s a one or two piece rear main ?

luke, i`m certainly learning the extent of the after market range. will be running a 350 in the wifes hg panelvan & thinking about a 400 in my hk prem

A 400 is lots of fun. There are a few subtle but cruicial differences between the two in terms of maintenance and upgrading. The two which I tripped over were the larger harmonic balancer and the steam holes in the head (which 350 head gaskets block off |

yes, 2 piece as already answered. They are all 2-piece until 1986 as far as I know. 400s and 454s are externally balanced so use different harmonic balancer and flex plate. Correct me if Im wrong.
