I have a red 253 with a WB inlet manifold, rochester and electronic ignition. The accelerator cable comes from behind the carby to hook up to the carb whereas every other one I have seen, the cable comes in from the front of the motor. Why has it been done this way? Does anyone have a diagram of how they were set up from the factory? Thanks

Theyve probably used a 6cyl cable. Just change it out for a V8 one and use the V8 VC-VK or WB cable mount. Look under the bonnet of any of these to see one.

I assume red mtr with a QUAD. The early HQ QUAD carbs used linkages as you know. But in later models when the Quad carbie changed to the fuel efficient model (LOL) so did the direction of the linkage and the ball attachment changed with it. I think early
