Gday guys got most of the wiring sorted on this efi into the WB except for three of them.
1st. Brown wire, when traced it went back to the instrument dash, is this hooked to the alternator light? or is this one the Earth?
2nd. Blue wire, ran from the control unit (computer) through the main wireing loom (under the bonnet back into the dash on driver side) to under the dash but joined to nothing?
3rd. White wire, same as above?
any suggestions?

Off the top of my head, without going & getting the manual, the brown wire in a commodore instrument loom is either the tach signal or alternator light. In an EFI the tach signal runs off the negative side of the coil, and not only works the tacho, it's a |

Hi Guys.
Yes, Commodorenut has got it sussed.
The brown can be the alternator light wire, but if its in the EFI harness its most likely the -ve coil wire for the tacho feed, which also triggers the tachometric relay. This is the main relay for the E |

Thanks for that, the blue and white wire I understand now as it is a berlina that is the donor car and has the standard dash fitted with no trip computer so that is why the wires ran no where. I have the darker brown wire for the negitive side of the coil |

I don't know about the alternator one - as far as I was aware it was only the tach pulse (ie, no pulse = no run = kill fuel pump).

DA! I remembered some time in the middle of the night that I left the commodore "tickle" wire in place for the alt! Guess what the elusive brown wire was for!! I was uming and aring as to using that or leaving the original WB "tickle" wire so I left it in |
