Hi all.
I have a HZ 308 with an edelbrock performer inlet manifold and Holley 600 vac.
Does any one have any pics or advice on how you set up the emission control. The manifold does not have a place for the egr valve. Do I need to use it? This stuff bamboozles me. Especially on carby engines.

I have the "egr" valve off the old HZ 308. I now have a 355 stroker with an edelbrock performer manifold in my HZ prem. There is nowhere on the edelbrock manifold for the original egr valve to go. Do I need to get one that goes into the rocker cover? D

You'll never make it legal on Petrol without the EGR valve. I have seen Edelbrock manifolds with an EGR port on it but I think they were Chevy. You'll also need the Xmas trees on the front of the manifold, the temperature switch on the back of the driver' |

Ford V8's from 1976 to 1983 had a sandwich plate between the carby and inlet manifold (all were 4 barrel spread bore type). This plate contained the EGR valve so maybe you could utilise one of these and have a metal pipe running to your exhaust manifold.
