with all this talk on biofuels.
people need to remember there are two main types of Biofuel sources:

1) Biodiesel, grown from oilseed crops such as canola, primarily grown in southern areas like Tas, S.W. W.A., ViC, SA etc.
in Australia, water in these areas is Expensive, and is only gunna get more expensive
so its not gunna happen in Southern Aust.
Leave it to the canadians
they planted 1.5 million ac this year

2) Ethanol, grown primarily from tropical grasses such as cane.
grown in the far north to get the heat units required for a crop.
Water is cheaper up there.
competing with Brazil + others.
this is a far more likely proposition for Australia.
e.g Kunununna.

remember, "biofuels ain't biofuels"

I ran bodiesl once in the nissan patrol (2001 model) and had to take it to nissan for $300 worth or repairs as the computer system and engine injection could not deal with it and nissan advised us to avoid biodiesel at all cost as it damages these cars!!

Alot of energy goes into producing biofuels of any kind.
Theres nothing clean about it.
It produces emisions once burnt the same as every other fuel burning car.
The only difference is, it didnt come from oil.

CNG is cleaner, cheaper, easier to proc
