Guys,
I have been rebuilding an old HQ and have installed a crate motor. 330hp 350 chev. My question is:- Do I just follow the timing marks on the H/Balancer to the pointer and line them up or should I go plus or minus this mark for correct timing. I am yet to fire her up but am curious as to your thoughts.
Also I have heard that there is a few different firing orders that can be set for the chev engines Can anyone shed some light onto this as to why it is so. What is the benefit of changing the firing order around.

The only reason the firing order would change is if the crank journals were rearrange for better balance of the rotating assembly, however this would also need a different cam to suit. AFAIK there is only 1 configuration of cam lobes for the SBC, but many

You only have to be in front at the end of the race.
