I wounder how many of these project/suit restoration HKTG Monaro we all see on EBay etc will actually get restored.
I have just finished a full restoration of a HG 80837, I was one of the lucky ones that had the car before the prices went berserk (car cost me 2K for a V8 GTS no rust) .

Anyway my point is I have just spent over 40K doing most things myself or by really good mates. It also took me four years.
I cant see too many people buying a car to suite restoration for 25K then spending another 40K plus on the car.
I have a feeling these cars (dependant on the model) are going to do the rounds on EBay etc for many years to come.
I am not talking about the 818s but these non GTS cars and rusted pieces of cr@p.

Anyone else feel this is a fair call.

I think that the 80337 cars will be turned into street machines... much more cost effective than trying to do a full resto... sourcing original parts for a resto can cost more than the panel work... its crazy

I think you are right that some cars will d

probably some truth to it , some people have to much money, others probably re-morgaged the house to own one and can`t afford to restore it, these cars will end up back on the market after a while. If you bought one when they were cheap (under a few grand

$300,000 for a hk 327 or $800,000 for a GTHO the guys who will truly apreciate these cars and will drive them on the street and to shows will never be able to have one unless they kept from what back when.

ive seen it all before..in the late 80s my best friend had a GTHO and got $70k for it, the same year I bought a quite modest 4 bd house for $68k on a fair block. the house grew in value, but the HO was sold in the height of the recession for $52k. at the
