I have a set of Nos sills that I was going to replace the sills on my HX van with but on checking them out I found they are solid and don't need replacing. So I figured I could use them on the HX Monaro until I checked the part numbers.

The sills I have are listed for ute, van, wagon and Statesman and are part No's 2809815 and 2809816. The part No's listed for 4dr sedans are 2809813 and 2809814.

Does anyone know what the difference is in the sills and can I use mine on my HX Monaro as I can't see any difference by just looking at them?

The obvious difference would be the length wouldn't it?

I thought that as well but they seem to be the same length. The doors are also the same and basically interchangeable except for the rear door window surrounds.

I guess if you compare them to the vehicle and they look like they'll be okay you could use them.

Who'd know ? ... oh yeah ... we all do now ... hahaha

Seriously though - where are you going to find the right ones listed in the book ?

Hi Absinth.

The sedan & coupe sills are 3 inches shorter than ute/van/wagon/Statesman ones.

You can see the difference if you look at a sedan & a Statesman side by side. The extra 3" in the Statesman extends past the rear door to join a wider rear w

Hi Dr. T, thanks for that.

I had measured the sills from the front to the rear recess and they are the same, I physically took the Nos sill down and checked it against the sedan sill and saw it straight away. The recessed rear section is longer and th

If you look at a HQ-WB ute or van the sills dont extend back to the wheel arch. They stop and are supplemented by a bit of the quarter panel.

Having said that you already have your answer.
