Hi guys, I have just converted the old HQ to power steer. But now the steering is TOO light. I know there are some other steering arms that I need to change as well. But I am not exactly sure which ones. Can anyone tell me the correct ones to use?? pictures would be a great help too, cos I am not that cluey on all the names.

Thanks

Hi Paul.

There are no arms to change on the HQ, they are are the same for both manual & power steering.

If by too tight you mean too heavy, you have a problem. Get it checked by a pro. Either the box or pump is faulty or somebody has tried to adjust
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

I think you read it wrong Dr.Terry

Paul the short arms are approx 95mm between the tie rod hole and the first bolt hole on the arm that bolts to the stub axle.
The longer arms from memory were 120mm +

Hey Dr.Terry...any date set for your book relea

I changed to power steering 5yrs ago on my 202 and it was great.
My mate said he never liked it on his cars as it went all over the show.

I had no problem.

Then I put a chev into it and changed ball joints lower. And v8 suspension and now at about
If its not broke it will be soon

keith check the steering ball joints and idler linkage a tiny bit of movement in them can make awful lot of wandering. also check front wheel bearings are tight loose ones will do this as the load lifts at speed and the tyres dont grip as well.
