hi, just joined the ford ranks. bought an au falcon ute. alls good except for a persistent oil leak from the sump. sought advice from local mechanic - told me its not a major problem - infact very cheap item - think it was the gasket - but he told me that it was going to be $$$$ as the sump is not able to be taken off without the motor being lifted up or out - as room is lacking. does this sound correct, or should i look to find a better diagnosis for this leak
cheers geoff

Yes basically you have to pull the engine or front cross member out to remove the sump.

You could be lucky it might be that the sump bolts just need tightening up 1/2 a turn.
