A lady friend of mine was saying her heater was not working in her JD Camira. I had a quick look for her, and it appeared the vacuum operated heater tap was not working. I pulled the hose off the back of the switch valve under the dash, sucked on it, and the tap moved. I clamped the hose, stuck a nail in the end of the hose, and the tap remains on.
Hey at least she wont freeze, and to stop the heater in about 5 months, she just pulls the nail out of the end of the vacuum hose. |

Well the heater is now on, so the heater works. It was not working because the switch valve was leaking and the vacuum operated heater tap would not function.
Basically it was like I hotwired a vacuum operated heater tap.

Hmmm good idea. I could do that, and when it is summer, she could just clamp it. Or I could fit a seperate remote tap with cable operation.
This is a 1986 Camira, and she has had it for 3 years and only paid rego, turned the key to start and fill with |
