I'm looking at buying a QT prefix block. The seller reckons the date stamp is 26D84. Is this the wrong date stamp information. Or is it a 78, or 74 block. Cheers.

Hi Campbell do you have an engine number even the first 3 numbers will help narrow it down? One too many numbers in the date code.

Campbell I would go with it being a 26th of April 78 block with the QT960046 number if it was a April 74 it should be somewhere below the 53XXXX range of numbers.

I have QT956*** & QT958*** recorded as coming from April/May 78 respectively, so I would say the 4 on the end is a mistake Leroy |
