I recently stripped and cleaned my wiper motor and put it back on the car. All works perfectly including the pump, except now the motor doesn't park itself properly. It parks then very slowly creeps over slightly and then the wiper goes on again. This happens every revolution of the wiper motor. I now realise tha i didn't install the gears and shaft thrust. Maybe this takes up enough resistance to stop the motor from turning when parked. Any ideas?

You will find it is the park cam that is playing up, maybe the grease you used during reconditioning was not electrical quality. (conducting from cam to contact enough for the motor to "unpark" itself slowly)
