ebay are sort of like consulting with me on an informal basis about parts categories.

they have listed HSV as a manufacturer in their draft. I disagree with this, does that seem ok to you guys. They also have Shelby which I have the same problem with, even though he did make the shelby cobra and the series 1 (they already have AC Cobra as a manufacturer so if you were looking for S/C parts I would think you would look under AC anyway)

i see these more as enhancers', much like yenko, hdt, baldwin-motion, walkinshaw etc.

your opinions welcome

also, currently sub category for example Holden next subcategory is series, where they have say Astra, Jackaroo, Barina. These seem right to me, but they cant seem to get their head around kingswood premier belmont are not series. how do I explain it better? Or do you see this as correct. Like it should be
EJ EH
HD HR
HK HT HG

families of series etc, right?

not Astra, Jackaroo, Barina, Rodeo, Kingswood, Premier...

what do we call kingswood? luxury level right? like its just a badge telling you a bit about plushness and features - not relevant to series?

opinions invited

ebay are looking to improve the categories using item specifics fields (early next year hopefully) but we need to make sure they get it right

Thanks, Paul

HSV are registered as a manufacturer so I dont see why they shouldnt get their own category. They put more of their car together than what Holden do with a Barina.

I agree with the second bit though. Categorise within the series of vehicle. Dont make i

HSV are most definately worthy of their own category.

The only problem is, every idiot selling junk labels it HDT HSV Brock Calais Turbo etc etc, so the HSV parts category will be clogged with crap.

Cheers,

Mick

ah, thanks for that. any other opinions on these issues? so you would recommend it is kept as a manufacturer and not a subcategory series under Holden or possibly Holden -> Commodore -> HSV?

you will always get poorly labelled/categorized stuff,

ok good thanks Mick that seems pretty clear, I will pass that on.

unfortunately all you can do in those situations is report as keyword spamming.

HQ could almost be on its own, most parts are not shared with HJ HX HZ, front panels, bumpers, most interior parts are unique to HQ ,interior patterns are different to the latter models.

Hi Cloudy, yes but they are still the same family and you have to draw a line on how many you can have

revisiting Micks comment about HSV being worthy, that may be so but is it technically correct to name them as a manufacturer?

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0
