What diff ratio will give me about half a gear higher
I have a HR Ute with 202 and trymatic auto it seems to be half a gear low for on the road driving

you probably have 3.55.

try 3.36

sure.
remember to get the two longer bolts that go with the 3.08 that the 3.36 and 3.55 dont have.
one of them is the sump bolt, and the other is next to it.
its not a straight forward swap, you will need to do something about the second bolt, like wel
