Hey guys , ive just bought a hq one tonner with a reconed 308, but now found out its not the original motor which was a 202 and which it is licenced as, now im afraid ill get a red sticker, the car is in semi condition besides cowl rust, does anyone no how hard it is to get licenced as a 308 and what condition it needs to be in for pits
im in WA.

i knew a guy in SA had a HT prem 186 He fitted a 253 in it and never changed the rego , He drove it that way for over 10 years regd as a 6cyl.
Its not legal and we do not have annual checks.
The car you have came out with a V8 and if its set up as per

In NSW the RTA reckon (or at least used to reckon) the biggest engine in a HQ-WB tonner was a 253. Therefore they wanted an Engineers certificate for it. However, an Engineer told me that was easily fixed by proving that HQ-WB tonners did come out
