Hi what gear do I need for the speedo drive for a 350 trans into a hq.The speedo in the car reads in kms only and is reading to high like when I'm doing 100kph on the speedo the car is only doing 70kph.Thanks for any help.

Depends upon the diff ratio and tyre size.

Hi diff ratio is 3:08 and tyres are 245-50-14,thanks.

Youll have to work out your tyre diameter, compare it to one of the standard HQ-WB tyres and look up the HZ or WB parts catalogue to see what which gear is right. You might have to also change the carrier as these only suit a certain range of gears.

What you can do is have a look at the driven gear in your gearbox already (is a single bolt on the side where speedoi cable goes in. Take out the plastic gear and look at colour / count teeth. Then post again with number of teeth and a couple of actual v

Take it to a speedo place. I did this recently.
They dont replace cable.
Drove car one kilometre down street in ringwood Melb where they have it accurately marked.
Then they take speedo out and recalibrate it.
Now its 100% accurate.
Cost depeds on sp
