i have a trimatic from a vk the linkages on the left my HQs are on the right if i made a bracket to bolt under the trimatics pan to operate of the standard column change would this be ok ? cheers

If its a T-bar just buy a HQ-HZ linkage type T-bar for a TH400, or knock the roll pins out and swap your over to the other side.
If its a column shift the trimatic can be converted to RH shift by a transmission shop, but its much cheaper and easier to sw
