hello all , Im about to convert my drum brake front end to disc brakes , I have been told conflicting stories to wether or not i need to fit a remote brake booster . can someone please tell me if it is essential i use a booster , it is a six cylinder engine. any advise would be much appreciated on this conversion. thank you Dave

well if you want to stop then yeah a booster is sorta needed but you can use a factory one

Yes I would. I had a VH Valiant which had the option of un boosted front disc brakes. They were funny days as the VH was available with four wheel drums boosted or un boosted and front discs boosted or un boosted.

You can use an xy booster as well.I am currently doing a xr falcon 500 factory v8(289).It left the factory with drums all round.I am fitting xy fornt discs as well as front end cause i want it to stop!!You have to shorten up the booster bracket though.I a

Same ratio box but a different box altogether as it has the steering shaft connected to it
