Gday
I had an interesting day in the Territory.
Did an oil change in the HG after yesterdays camshaft gear drive drama's - got an alloy one in there now, seems to be running sweet. Been having a few issues with the indicator's and brake lights. My cousin put me onto a mate of his, old fella, retired auto leckie. I gave him a ring, no worries, come round, he said. There he is, restoring an HG staion wagon to original specs, and I mean original. It was a joy to see. Not only that but there was about 4 or 5 old HG's scattered about the yard, all in various stages of scavenge. He sorted out my leckie issues and we stopped and yarned for about an hour about old holdens, it was great. I think he was wrapped to see a younger fella (34) getting into the old girls (cars!) as well, even if I'm not going original. His workshop and car yard were an enthusiest's wet dream!
To top the day off. I gave an elderly couple a hand this evening with jumpstarting their car, flat battery, followed them home to make sure they made it ok. Got to their place and they said come and have a look at this. Underneath a car cover was an immaculate EH wagon. They are the second owners. The car was made late 1963 and first purchased Jan 1964. This thing was in mint condition inside and out, I could not believe my eyes!
What a day! Good things happen to good people!
