Can someone help with identification of 308 in my boat? engine no is OT75250 casting on front says L212....

Its an early HQ 308 cast 21st Oct 1972.
Should be QT not OT.

Something is wrong I think. Qx75xxx should be around October 1971. So either its been restamped, there is a number missing or the casting number has been read wrong (could it be L21?).
