Gday guys if I was looking to find the casting numbers and casting date on a Holden 5L injected motor where would I look? Thanks Barry.

Same place as the early ones mate. Bit difficult on the EFI motors, as the throttle body is in the way.

Ok what we have found is:

2363 on top of water pump near throttle body (is this the casting number and if so what year please?)

92060921-P behind the harmonic balancer

20H392060019 near extractors on the block

so does this help with the engine

20H3 is probably 20/9/93. Cast number will probably be 92060019.

Any idea what the 2363 ontop of the motor is? Im pritty stuffed on this one I have spoken about it before and listed the engine number and every one felt it may be an early VN/P 5L by the engine number. It was suggested to find the casting number to confi

2363 on the top is probably 23G3 (the G can resemble a 6).
In this case 23rd July 93 which is smack on the VP/VR changeover.

It should have an engine number beginning with VU, and be somewhere around 620,000 give or take 10,000.
