A mates got a 308 60 thou oversized and he was woundering what size this now makes his engine ,he has just brought it and cracked a piston are they worth rebuilding or throw away job.how is the calculating done

Get another block.They dont go any bigger , so not worth spending on it.In my opinion.

(4.060/2) x (4.060/2) x pi x 3.062 x 8

That is bore radius squared x pi x stroke x 8 cylinders.
