Hey all,

Having trouble with the old starter motor on the new engine. Got a 308 running 9.7:1 compression, and when the old girl is driven a while on a warm day and stopped at the shops or something, she is having an awful lot of trouble cranking back over. Some time I have to wait a good 30minutes before she will respond.

Anyway, question is, what sort of powered starter motor would I require on an engine with this sort of compression ? Looking at getting a hi-torque starter (nothing to outrageous), but just wondering the pro's/con's.

I definately need to replace it, its the original one from the factory line, so its a wonder its still working really.

Thanks in advance!
