Wow that came up great....what did the panelbeater use? I am guessing a mig with 6mm wire?.. I am definetly going to attempt this now...cheers Vanman

van man i think you may mean 0.6mm wire, the trick is to spot weld it with the mig and and then to lightly tap each spot while its hot to prevent shrinking. also you wanna spot in a circle like jvanner said this also helps to stop warping you wanna keep w

For me 0.8mm wire would be my choice. Cooling with an air line is my preferred method. I would estimate the 4 openings to take about 4-6 hours to weld with two people, one welding and one blowing, even after the tack welding. Anything is possible. Skill a

It was spot welded all around at about 3 inch intervals and then around again and again and again.......and tapped to prevent shrinking. Then grinded smooth and filled lightly. It took him ages to do it but I think the results are worth the extra time.
