I have read the previous topics comparing VY and VZ and was just wondering if the general opinion has changed.

My uneducated opinion is that I would prefer a VY for the tried and tested Ecotech, even though the Alloytech appears better on paper.

I need a comfortable and reliable station wagon (yep, junior coming)and need to talk the good lady out of a Falcon.

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Get the VY.

Never buy the first version of any new engine design.

The VY 3.8 V6 Ecotec is bulletproof & reliable. Put a good LPG system on it & it will cost next to nothing to run.

Dr Terry.
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

....and the 3.8 has more torque down low.....
It also has those maintenance free hydraulic tappets...

I understand Holden has recently changed the cam timing on 3.6 to get more torque down low...
