Hey all
I have just put a blue 6cyl in my vk the motor is a reco and was running when the previous owner had it in his hj or hz now i have it in my vk every thing hooked up the motor turns over but i have no spark anywhere i have tried putting straight power to the coil and still nothing i also have tried 3 other dizzys and 4 other coils and still no spark can anyone help, thanks in advance.

Take the dizzy cap off and crank.
Does the rotor turn?

Does the VK still have the original carby EST ignition? Are you using the right dizzy for EST? Do you have the EST sensor on the back of the head and the EST flywheel/flex plate?

thanks for the replys i have removed all est from the car at the end off the day it was a dodgey lead now it is a sweet running blue motor in a vk alot better than black

This highlights a simple error I see experienced mechanics make every day.

If you find no spark at the plug end of the lead, the next step is to check what you have at the coil itself.

Faulty leads, cap or rotor can easily send you on a wild goose
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0
