I am looking at adding the fairmont rear window chrome to a xy falcon.I know the rubber seal is different on the fairmont/gt compared to the 500 and I have to get a new one of these.I have nearly all of the 5 chrome peices ready to put on but I have been told it is better to put the chrome and the rubber on at the same time.Does the rubber hold some of the chrome peices on?Can you put the rubber on first and still put the chrome on later easily?I just dont want to find out the hard way.Thanks for any advice.

Fit the chrome to the rubber before you fit it. You will never get them in if it is fitted.

Thanks for that mate.Do you also know if you can use the 2 peice bottom chrome strip from the 500 or do you have to use the fairmont one? Thanks again.

Good question. I did not think the moulds were different. If they are Rare Spares will list a 500 and a Fairmont seal separatly. I will check thier website.

Sorry Steve. I should have read your request properly. If the Fairmont /GT moulds are a different diameter to the 500 they will not be interchangeable as they join at the corner.
