I have a 253 for sale with a HP number on it. Does anyone know why is has HP on it and is it anything special. I have read about hp sixes but nothing about 253s.

Itll be a 308, not a 253. All early HT 308s (mainly Broughams) had HP on the side. It changed gradually to 308 not long after the 308 was made available across the rest of the HT range.
If it is a 253 with HP then you have my attention. Whats its engine |

It has 253 on the side of the block. The engine number is HP57668. Any info would be great!

My explaination would be it is HR57668, this would make it out of an LH/X Torana.
The HP engines, 6 cylinder and V8 have HP cast into them not part of the engine number.

Upon closer inspection warren I think you may be right. I can just make out the bottom leg of the R. Thanks for that!
