hey all, putting a 4 speed single rail in my xt wagon crossmeber needs to be moved back about 2-3inchs any ideas on how to achieve this? any one done this before?

Are there not extra holes where the cross member bolts in specifically to do this?
The single rail rear mount should be in the same place as the three speed mount or have you changed the engine too?

hey jim. couldnt see any extra holes will check that out tommorrow. measured from the face where it bolts on to the bellhousing back to the rear mount and it was longer than the 3 speed hmm might not be a single rail,

Your single rail looks like it's a Cortina one judging by the shifter location.
Anyway that aside I have just measured my single rail and from the flat face that buts against the bell housing to the centre of the hole where the mount rubber bolts to |

g'day measured the box up got the same measurements as u did. sorry i stand corrected went and made sure and there is another one in front of the whole where it was mounted. |

That one almost looks V4 transit. The Cortina single rail has the shifter further forward than a Falcon one which is the only real difference.

OK I spoke to my brother and he said that XR's XT's and early XW's had only two holes each side. Later XW's onwards had three holes either side.
Fitting an FMX also yields the same problem.
He said that he got around it by using a 6mm thick pla |

yeah i thought id have to make up an adapter of some type, cheers for the help jim really appreciate it, keep u posted on how it all goes,just have to get a decent 250 crossflow after that

My brother had one of those in front of his single rail. It was good enough to leave 302's behind.
I think that he may still have that lying around too.
