I have just received a letter from Qld Dept of Transport..They say that my personal plates "NED 351" will now be illegal. They are gold letters on black background..They say they are sending 2 replacements within 4 months and I am to return mine to them...Not any explanations. Has anyone else with black and gold plates had the same letter from Dept Of Transport ?? I wonder if myself or my son have gone through a speed camera and the numberplates did photograph clearly,,thanks Ned351

G'Day. I too have Gold letters on black - Qld (SAM 302) haven't heard a peep. But I havent seen today's snail mail either. Interesting?

Actual letter says"A change to the manufacturing spefications for personalised plates manufactured between 01 November 2000 and 31 March 2003 using gold colour as part of the plate manufacture;{either characters or background} has been approved by the Dep
