hey all i have a ed fairmont ghia runs like a dream but every now and then when i go to start it i have to hit the dash other wise it wont turn over, does anyone have any ideas on why this is.

It sounds like your Smartlock module has a loose connection.
It's a red or green plastic box that lives in the dash just above the handbrake lever so maybe un plugging it will fix the problem or it could have a dry solder joint.
