have asked about 351 block that turned out to be out of a 75 ltd the engine when bought had these brackets in link they went from engine mounts to gearbox i think as no gearbox was fitted cant be sure also it was 15 - 20 years ago are they standard and if so are they ltd or what i never used them and just re found them

I would say they were custom made, not original as far as I know. Either way, I would not be fitting them, there is no need.

I've not seen anything like that before. If they aren't factory it looks like a very good job making them. That usually
means someone with a bit of knowledge and skill made them. And if that's the case people like that don't usually go
making things

had a couple of sets of them in the old mans workshop when i was a kid. He used to use em for exacly that, Holding the gearbox in place while the engine was out.Havent seen em for about honestly about 25 years......... knowin my old man they are in his sh

Valiants all had similar brackets as do both 6 cylinder and V8 E series Falcons.

Could it have been a former Valiant owner thinking that they were missing so decided to fabricate a set?

They do look well made but home made.

from memory, they only came with cars that had FMX fitted as well, but i could be wrong

I had the same brackets on all three p5 ltds i had with the 351, fmx. I was told it was to help brace the fmx due to the longer tail shafts? Im not going to put them back on . They are bolted to base of the block to trany so wouldent think they would be u

thanks guys i thought they were to well made to be custom and the p5 link ties in perfectly with the engine they were attached to and the fact the whole engine was supposedly just removed from written off xb before i bought it .
