G'day, After ownership of many HZ-WB vans and utes (all long-since gone), I recently traded my VF SS ute on a WB one tonner. Looking at the codes etc, it seems to be a rather interesting vehicle. It's a round headlight (commercial front) 7/81 build vehicle. Colour is Torquay Sand. Instead of being a typical 202, column shift, it is a factory 253, 4 speed. With no aerial hole, it appears to have a radio delete option (Although it has since had one installed with an aerial mounted on the tray. Bench seat and 3:55 (non-LSD) diff. Very original ute. Rustproofed from new with not a speck of rust anywhere. Am I right in thinking this one is unique?

It is actually pretty common. Lots of WB 4.2L manuals built, and from memory all manual V8 WB's were 4spd and 3.55 is the standard tonner diff, would only change to 4.44 in some 6cyl applications or 3.36 if optioned on V8 manual or was standard with V8 auto. The square headlight commercial front wasn't introduced on tonners until 4/81 so there were lots of the earlier round headlight examples built in the preceding year. Torquay Sand was pretty common too. I'm pretty sure the radio was still optional on WB Holden. Having the round headlight front in 7/81 is probably the most unusual thing, as most in that timeframe were square in my experience.
