Cars cannot offend, people do. So pointing the finger at a Commodore is flawed. When it comes to grey Nomads flogging the system there are a couple of points there. If the vehicle is not roadworthy then it should not be on the road. If they are fully paid up members meeting their constitutional obligations, filling their log book out correctly and they end up touring the country for nearly a year without being delinquent with any of the rules then how can that be criticised? If they stay off the road parked up camping and don't go over their days what does it matter where the hell the vehicle is parked as long as it does not exceed the number of days? That's a bit judgemental......do I detect a bit of the jolly green giant? If the vehicle is a shytbox then it should not be registered regardless of what kind of scheme it is on. Also re the " These people only join a club to take advantage of the historic rules. They never go to meetings." : Well if they are not out there being delinquent not making trouble and paying their money then what's the problem? I am a member of the Yamba Golf Club and I haven't played in years. I get a member's discount for a drink and can do anything other members can do. They like my membership money and I know my fees contribute to the wealth of the Club. If I misbehave they will throw me out. We should welcome as many financial members to car clubs as possible, even inactive non contributing ones. They might appear to be freeloading on a system but if their vehicle and behaviour is good then what the hell? They will create less headaches than some of the so called enthusiast members who can destroy clubs with their cr@p politics and petty power games. Cheers
