Hi Guys,

Just have a question regarding the original market value as listed on my 72 HQ Kingswood utilitys, Victorian Police Application for Registration of a Motor car Document, dated - March 1972.

The Document has the car as having a market value of $3495.

1. Would have this been an exact value as the car was registered to Holden first?

2. Were vehicles given a rough round about value for a specific model by the VIC police after the initial purchase by a person or was it specifically taken off the sale price as listed by the dealer?

3. As the seller was the VOPC would the price have been different to a vehicle sold by a dealer?

4. Is it an accurate price for a HQ Kingswood utility, 308, M21, 3.08:1 Salisbury, 1842-10H CTV, 2 seat capacity?

Im trying to reconstruct the old document into some relevant information and apologies if the questions seem extremely stupid.

Thanks in advance and all the best for the festive season

I don't know the procedure in Vic at the time, but generally market value would most of the time be actual sale price. The price seems about right for the time
