Hi.

I understand HK wheel nuts are different to HT-G. The angle of the cone shape is different. What are the angles on each?

If so that means the wrong nuts could damage the rims.

Byron or Terry. Am I correct with this or in a panic over nothing?

Cheers Nick.

That is correct. See here: http://www.fastlane.com....58622_HK-wheel-nut.aspx

I'm not sure of the exact angles but the 'V' is wider & shallower on the earlier cars (around 90 degrees).

The later nuts are narrower in the 'V' & go deeper (around 60 degrees)

If you fit the early nuts to later rims you will damage the rim. If you fit the early nuts to later rims you will do more damage to the nuts.

Hi Terry.
Thank you.

I remember seeing something like an addendum to a parts manual/ service manual or a dealer notification mentioning this. It showed (I think, not sure) the HK nuts marked with a circle on them and the HT HG ones without. But I want to be sure as I see it as a safety issue. Please if anyone has any info from GM-H or elsewhere can you please discuss here? Thanks. I am also discussing on Facebook HK-HT-HG Appreciation Society Page on Facebook.

Here's an extract from the service bulletin regarding the wheel nut change.
