I've just had a new job come in for full restoration. It's a July Dandenong built HK81837. It's the one that was sold at Shannon's Winter 2021 auction and was restored in the UK.

It is a very original car in many ways and has it's original block and books. I've started the disassembly process and have noticed it has all factory holes for C64 optional air-conditioning. The headlight panel, firewall and inner fender skirt have the factory drilled holes in the correct place. There is no AC fitted to the vehicle and its early history is unknown. All documentation I have shows that C64 was not an option on 81837 manual including HT HG.

Has anyone seen an original example or ever heard of one being fitted to one back in the day? I'm aware of the UB4 Delete Tachometer option when C64 is fitted to 80737. Thanks

Does it have the correct lighting harness for C64?

Hi Warren, you'd be referring to the Lighting Harness Assembly 7434688, the Belmont style harness used when the washer pump on the wiper motor is not fitted. This vehicle has the 7434162 Lighting Harness. That's not to say it wasn't changed at some point. Although the vehicle has a lot of its original components consistent with the date and Plant it was built at, it has also had a full restoration previously and there have been many parts changed.

I believe there was a Bright Blue Metallic HK81837 with C64 at the 2014 Monaro Nationals in the Barossa SA. Apparently, it was a Directors car so I've been told. I don't remember it. Do you recall seeing it?
