I've got that one listed as HR to HG 161.

Casting numbers aren’t part numbers. You rarely find them in Parts Catalogues.

yup... true dat!
but sometimes, just sometimes you can strike it lucky
as
for some strange reason, some of the raw casting numbers at Pt Melbourne
'Mechanical production' plants were numbered the same as the finished part
but with a 'P' in front.

Eg ... Trimatic oil pump housing might be (guessing)- 99291234 but the cast part is P99291234

Never worked that out why ..

You can understand in other parts of GM why. For example casting numbers 3947041 and 3927186 for SBC heads. There are many different part numbers for these heads for example bare castings or complete heads. Plus the 3927186 casting was sold with 1.94 intake valves with press in studs and 2.02 intake valves with screw in studs. The basic castings are identical, the 041 is generally Tonawanda cast and machined, and the 186 is generally Saginaw cast and Flint machined but sometimes Tonawanda cast and Flint machined. They are the same part number for the same assembly.
