my mate has finished my motor, it will be going in my 1948 holden boddied vauxhall.

hay nice enginewhats up with that is it a supercharger kit on i or?? wat sort of horse power it produce now?

At this years CRAKK run(Canberra Rod and Kustom Kruise),i was talking to a mate with a blown 265 hemi in his roadster pickup about this and that,when I wanted to know how well a blown six cyl would go,so being Steve, he took me for a ride in his buick(blown 265 hemi)after ending up with a lap full of glove box bits and pieces after a good launch, I stated"i want one!" so now he is in the process of building me a blown 202(300-320hp)for my (1946 vauxhall) blower is an eaton M90 running 10-12lbs of boost.all the good gear has gone into the motor(no expence spared!) as well as straight LP gas.big cam,head work and all the high strength gear(motor has been built to rev to 7500rpm).
he is building the motor to similar specs as the motor he built for his daughters boyfriends FJ,although his is turbod, mine will be making the same level of boost with the supercharger and HP,and it really moves.will rev to 7500(plus!)and makes at least 300 plus HP should be fun in my 1100kg Vauxhall putting it on the 4bbl manifold is the easy way to do it, but because my Vauxhall has no room in the engine bay, we are going to mount it above and on the spark plug side of the motor with a blow pipe into a 350 holley manifold.
more progress has been made,all the machine parts are back from the shop and all the good bottom end parts have been bought.acl race parts,crow cam(big!) etc.block has had an extra .002" clearance for the race pistons,bearings are .001" under size for clearance as well(blown motors make a bit more heat under boost as well as race pistons expand more when hot)

specs are -counterbalanced crank,
starfire rods
arp bolts and studs
crow cam and lifters
hi energy sump with crank scraper
straight cut timing gears
acl race pistions and bearings
hi volume oil pump
Roller rockers plus a bit of other stuff that they did at superflow heads i will find out when i go and pick the motor up from steve.
HQ racing extractors and a 2bbl holley manifold
twin impco 200 mixers will be hooked up to an E converter for the fuel supply

Steve has also made a water /alchahol injection system to use when the days are really hot to prevent pinging .the head was purchaced from a turbo motor(in VIC)and bought up to sydney were it was stripped,cleaned and modified further by super flow heads to suit our blown application.all that is needed now,is to fit the plugs,leads and other accessories,then fit it to the car and fire it up.after a run in period(1500ks or so)a dyno should get the most out of it.hopefully it should get around the 300hp+ at around 6500rpm.blower boost should be around 10-12lbs and combined with the tri-matic(beefed up)and 1100kg of weight,it will be quite an enjoyable ride
lpg gas being 98-105 octane rating(mostly around the 102-103)we run around 9.5:1 comp with 8-10 lbs of boost Steve has experimented on a 2 litre jap motor with 7.5:1 and srewed the boost up to 20lbs! what a weapon that was!
blower is mounted up high to clear the vauxhalls narrow but high engine bay
blower drive made to clear all the accesories.6 groove belt with a 250% overdrive.once all the bugs have been sorted out, I can hit the chrome platers for some shiny stuff
eaton blowers are designed for a max of 15,000(sustained)rpm(rotor speed)we will be turning it at 2.5 crank speed.10-12 lbs of boost is manifold preasure.it doesnt sound like much,but as the motor breaths well ,the manifold preasure is a guide as to how much air is not going in.a stock motor with the same blower set up would get a lot more boost as the air would be trapped in the manifold ,unable to get into the cylinders(great boost numbers, but not as good performance)as the motor s breathing improves, the manifold preasure drops as the fuel/air(under boost)is able to get into the cylinder.oh yeah-con rod /idle adjuster is from a 308 holden-keeping it all GMH! :)
youve got to remember that this motor is in a street car and 6500rpm wont be held for long(even on the 1/4,6500rpm is only the shift point)so it will not be sustained rpm(unless I find a looooong road outside of home to wind it out!)the eaton blower,on Steves 265 hemi has a similar overdrive,and rpm limit,and has done a lot of ks since he bolted it on(around 10,000 ks per year X 10 years)and has been 100% reliable.these blowers ,unlike the GM blower,was designed with a high performance passenger car in mind,and is made to live a long time(thats why most auto manufacturers who supercharge their cars, use eaton blowers as standard)
the main problem I am going to have is traction ,but im sure the 295/50/15s will be ok on this little car :)

Gday Barnsey,

Just wondering what head gasket are you running on this motor?
Also what size stally are you using in the trimatic? Is she full manual?
Sounds preatty sweet... are you able to give us a clue about the cam size or is it a guarded secret? 300+hp with a blower is no walk in the park!

Make sure you have plastic covers for the passanger seat, Ive got a feeling there are going to be some liquids involuntarily spilt on it!!!

..oh and what ratio diff gears are you going with?

Not sure what gasket he has used, I will get all the specs when i pick up the engine from my mate, I just kept sending him the $$$$$$ when he said he needed more lol, my mate has been playing with suprcharged 6s on LPG for over 15 years and has built some tuff motors in that time, I am still in the prosess of rebuilding my chassis to take the exrta hp and am hoping to have the car back togeather for the street rod nats at Goulbourn at easter, I have replaced the HR rear end with a complete volvo setup including the upper and lower controle arms, I am also using the volvo front discs on the HR front end, addapting them to HD drum brake hubs with a fabricated calliper mount, so i will then have four wheel discs, with the front ones being twin pot callipers.I have moved the engine mounts back 4" to try and get a bit more room in the engine bay, and am now working out brakets to install the cut down commodore rack.
Another mate is building my trimatic for me so i dont have any details on that as yet, but he used to work in a speed shop in sydney building race cars and told me that he will build it strong, I just hope that i have built the rest of the car as strong to handle the extra power.
The only thing i am disapointed in is that when i rang yella terra about building me a new head, they told me they were not making them for holden sixes anymore, then after buying a head and spending big dollars on it getting it right I came accross the new yella terra Alloy heads http://www.kustombitz.co...wer-low-compression.html that have not long been re-least Had I known they were going to make them i would have waited a bit longer before building my motor.
I was thinking about using a hurst or b&m shifter and will be going full manual with the box.
I will post up full specs on both motor and box as soon as i get the right info from my mates, for now i will be just concentrating on getting the chassis and body back togeather
I would like to hve my wheels restored as they have been on the car since 1977, they were custom made by niels wheels. any one have any contact details for them ? phone number or location would be great.

Great stuff to use and goes on with a brush, or can be sprayed, I opted to brush and it just levels out so good it looks like it was sprayed.

its a 3 core aussi desert cooler FJ radiator that i fitted after my other one let go at summernats 19, I havent had any trouble with it so far and have travelled over 50,000 ks with the other 202 in there, the supercharged engine is running straight gas and there are two water hoses going into the converter to stop it icing up, the new engine will also have water injection to use on hot days, In the past the only time i used the thermo fan was in traffic and out on the cruise track at the nats, out on the open road the temp sits on 1/4 all day, so i am hoping that it stays cool with the new engine too, fingers crossed.
