Will a vt v8 wiring loom and computer work with a vs or vr engine???

Not unless you reprogram it, one to remove the VATS, and 2 because they are different spec motors - sequential injection & roller cam in the VT, vs batch fire & flat tappet cam in VN-VS.

But it is possible to reprogram computer to run sequential injection on vr/vs motor after changing to sequential injectors???

You also need to change the cam, or have someone re-tune it, as the sequential motors ran a different cam with roller lifters.
Im assuming from your username, that this is probably going to be a conversion into an earlier model??
Fow what its worth, if youre doing a conversion, hunt down a VN-VP V8 loom & ECU. It will work on all VN-VS engines (may need the 3-pin distributor plug changed) with no anti-theft hassles that the VR, VS & VT have, and if youre running a hydraulic Turbo 700, turbo 350 etc, or a manual box, it will be far better.
You would only bother with a VR-VS-VT computer & loom from an auto if you wanted to run the 4L60E electronic auto behind it, and you had the complete conversion from the one donor vehicle.

yeah mick putting it in ther WB and running a turbo 400. i was told the vn vp comps dont have the same tuning potential as a vs.

VR-mid VS (or thereabouts) manual ECUs are pretty much the same thing as VN-VP ECUs. With a TH400 youd want to run a manual ECU anyway.

The only real improvement in the VR/VS computers is that they do have a bit more speed (like a newer PC compared to an old one) but the VN/VP is just as good for tuning, with no lack of resolution points on the maps.
For ease of searching, and not having to remove the VATS, Id use a VN/VP loom & ECU (auto/manual doesnt matter) for your conversion.

Im with Mick.
The VN/VP has the same tuning capability. The only real difference is the communication speed (baud rate) at the diagnostic connector. After all, they are only fuel & ignition maps. All your a/cond, engine cooling fans & other gear will all work with the same, whether its a VT or a VN ECU.
A VN/VP ECU will work with any transmission (man or auto) except an electronic auto & are in plentiful supply. Not to mention the lack of any VATS (security) to get in the way of your conversion to an older model car.
I have carried out several of these conversions & the VN/VP is the simpler & easier way to go.
