salisbury diff? tailshaft? or the auto?

I have sorted out the whistling noise coming from LHR(rear brake) BUT the clunk/shudder coming from the rear when coasting to a stop has got people stumped...People who put the diff in reckon its the auto (trimatic) and the auto trans place thinks its the spider gears(diff) or possibly the tailshaft...the actual uni joints are OK...Any ideas?
